Milan has been on a downward spiral as of late as the team only has one win to show in their last six matches. As a result, the club has dropped to the eighth spot in the Italian top flight table, three points below fifth-running team Lazio and the final Europa League qualifying berth that they previously held.
In their most recent fixture last Sunday, I Rossoneri was nipped by another middling squad, Udinese Calcio, 1-2, on the road at the Dacia Arena for their second straight loss, as per ESPN.
Italian midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura scored the opening goal for head coach Vincenzo Montella's squad with a right-footed shot in the eighth minute to take an early 1-0 lead.
Udinese was able to level the count in the 31st minute with a left-footer by French forward Cyril Thereau off an assist by Emil Hallfredsson.
The hosts then netted the winner in the 73rd with a goal by Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul to hand Milan their third consecutive winless performance.
Meanwhile, Sampdoria pulled off a stunning 3-2 win over title contenders Roma at their home ground of Luigi Ferraris Stadium also last Sunday, Italian Football Daily reported.
After a 1-1 tie at the end of the first half, Roma took the lead with a 66th-minute goal by Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko.
However, head coach Marco Giampaolo's side fought back and scored the next two goals, courtesy of Czech forward Patrik Schick and Colombian striker Luis Muriel in the 71st and 73rd minutes to pull off the upset victory.
It was the first win for La Samp in their last six matches as the team is now settled in the 12th spot in the overall standings.
