The veteran game creator Hideo Kojima discussed more things about the "Death Stranding" game. He even went so far as to say that he already has a release date planned but stopped short of revealing it.
According to Game Rant, Kojima shed more light on the development of the game in the recent RTX Sydney 2017 event. He discussed topics that relate to his creative development process during the Game Creators panel in the event.
The statement pertaining to the "Death Stranding" game's release date was made when the topic of meeting deadlines and release dates came up. Kojima remarked that despite his image as a perfectionist, he is good at keeping deadlines, and as such delays are generally not a problem for him.
This is despite the fact that "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" had a rough development. After all, Kojima reasoned that the long development times of his games are attributed to his design, as he works towards a completion date he set for himself, rather than one set by a publisher or a company.
Aside from the release date, Kojima reveals that "Death Stranding" will be an open-world game and that it will not be VR-compatible. He does not deny that there is a possibility of a post-launch VR component for the game in the future.
As for the stage of the "Death Stranding" game's development, Kojima says that his team is currently tweaking the Decima graphics engine to better suit the photo-realistic graphics needed by the game. As such, Kojima Productions is currently working with Guerilla Games on developing the engine.
According to Game Spot, someone asked Kojima if the game will be released for the PlayStation 5. His answer was a negative, as Sony has never announced a PS5 in the works, thus making it just a mere rumor.
"Death Stranding" is currently being developed for the PS4. Here is the latest trailer for the game:
