Disney film "Cinderella" starred Lily James as the title character and Richard Madden as Prince.

The much awaited movie "Cinderella" is set to open tonight.  After a lacklustre week gone by at the box office, this weekend is expected to pump up the action with  the Disney movie along with other release "Run All Night."

Walt Disney Studios has always been a strong player in the movie business. It has a catalogue of animated hits like "Alice in Wonderland"  and "Maleficent" which brought huge profits for the production house. It is also known that the rags-to-riches story hardly fails to make a mark at the box office.

Considering all the fact, Cate Blanchett and Lily James starrer is expected to rake in $65 million in its opening weekend. The movie will be the first choice of both young and old who are looking for some option in the family-friendly genre, Entertainment Weekly reported. Since 20 per cent of school children in U.S. are reportedly on spring vacation this weekend, the movie will become the prime option of entertainment.

The Kenneth Branagh-directed live action film is a reincarnation of the traditional Cinderella story which has been told on big screen multiple times. The basic plot remains the same. A girl named Ella had a perfect and happy life when it got ruined when her mother died and her father married an evil stepmother played by Cate Blanchett, who brought along her two daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) to Ella's household.

What begins is the seemingly endless turmoil for poor Ella as she was forced to do all the chores of the house. She had a chance meeting with her Prince Charming, played by Richard Madden and gets invited to the ball.

The best part of the movie is Helena Bonham Carter's entrance as fairy godmother, came to rescue Ella so that she can attend the ball. The enchanting blue gown revealing James' ultra-tiny waist and the very beautiful glass slippers will make the audience gasp with pleasant surprise. The movie has been called magical and a must watch by multiple tabloids including New York Daily News and Hollywood Life.
