Bill Goldberg is having one hell of a second run in the WWE. He is expected to win the Universal Title at Fastlane and defend it against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33. However, the latest WWE rumors imply that Goldberg could be leaving the company after WrestleMania 33 in Orlando on April 2.
The 50-year-old superstar returned to the WWE last October 17, 2016 on Monday Night Raw after a 12-year absence. He then squashed Lesnar in just one minute and 26 seconds at the Survivor Series. His return has been considered by the WWE as a success.
Goldberg then entered the 2017 Royal Rumble Match but he only lasted for three minutes and 21 seconds after getting eliminated by The Undertaker. However, he showed that he has Lesnar's number as he threw out his rival with ease.
The current plans for Goldberg at WrestleMania 33 are pretty clear. He will win the Universal Championship at Fastlane and defend it against Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 in what would be his final match for the WWE.
Goldberg has already accepted the challenge of Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 on Raw, as recapped by WWE.com. He is also now scheduled to face Kevin Owens for the Universal Title at Fastlane after Chris Jericho made the decision for his friend.
However, the only question is whether or not Goldberg will retain the Universal championship at WrestleMania 33. If Goldberg retains the title, Lesnar is going to look even weaker and The Streak of The Undertaker goes out of the window completely.
But if Lesnar wins, Goldberg could be done with the WWE until next year when he gets inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. According to Daily Wrestling News, the former WCW world champion is advertised to appear in a non-WWE event taking place in the United Kingdom.
Goldberg is set to headline three events at the last week of June in the U.K. titled "You're Next! An Evening with Goldberg". The event takes place on June 25 in Glasgow, June 27 in Manchester and July 2 in London.
The tickets for the events go on sale on February 10, which means Goldberg might not be sticking around for long after WrestleMania 33. He could make several more appearances before leaving the WWE.
