'Star Wars: Episode VIII' Release Date Finalized; J.J. Abrams Film Hitting Theatres May 2017

Star Wars fans can rejoice as Disney and Lucas Film have finally confirmed the release date of "Star Wars: Episode VIII" to be May 26, 2017. This movie is being directed by Rian Johnson, who would also be responsible for writing the script of the movie as well, as per reports by Rolling Stone.

The other Star Wars' saga - "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is all set to release in theatres in December, and this project is being helmed by J. J. Abrams.

The story of "Star Wars: Episode VIII" will start where "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" culminates in a twisted ending. As regards the much anticipated movie - "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" the production team has managed to keep most of the details under wraps to build up the curiosity levels of the fans, prior to the release.

The movie is going to star Carrie Fisher, none other than Anthony Daniels, the inimitiable Kenny Baker, Mark Hamill, Peter Mayhew and of course, the legendary Harrison Ford. Besides these old-timers, there are going to be a number of fresh faces as well such as Andy Serkis, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong'o, Adam Driver and the stellar performer Max von Sydow. It is being written by Lawrence Kasdan and the legend himself - Abrams. It will be released on 18 Dec, as per reports by Wired.

Besides another Star War's project, a standalone film "Rogue" has also been announced, which is set to release next year. According to reports, production has already started and it stars Felicity Jones in a critical part in the movie.
