"Gears of War 4" gets a new free update that contains new maps, Gear Packs, gameplay changes, and a Valentine's Day event. Microsoft also hinted that a new difficulty will be coming soon.

The game publisher revealed on their official website that there will be two new maps that will come with the new free update, which are Impact Dark and War Machine. Impact Dark is a nighttime version of the map Impact, and it will feature reduced visibility due to smoke that has spread throughout it. Players will also have to face Boltoks, which replaced the snipers, and the Dropshot that replaces the Torque or EMBAR.

The second new map for the video game is War Machine, which has some references to the original video game. It has some changes that can be noticed right away. Instead of the old abandoned train station, the map is now set in a new COG Settlement, standing out with its untouched look, and remarkable features.

In this War Machine version, players will notice that there are signs of life everywhere. They find living beings in the active DeeBee security bay, the train sitting at the end of the platform, and many more areas.

The two new maps are now available in "Gear of War 4's" Developer Playlist. This playlist is only open to players who own its season pass. The game modes that are supported by these maps are team deathmatch, Guardian, and King of the Hill.

Players will get double experience and 20 percent bonus for credits with these two maps. These will be available for everyone at a later date.

The update added a new gameplay change in the video game, which is called the leader spawns. Players will now respawn near their leader, which now adds a new strategic element to it. This will make leaders go to a position, which will be beneficial for their team.

Game developer The Coalition revealed on the official forums of the video game that the Valentine's Day event will start on Feb. 10. Players will be to pick up new Gear Packs, and get Valentine's Day-themed rewards every day starting on its release day.

The game developers revealed that there will some huge updates coming this summer to "Gears of War 4." They will add the new Inconceivable Difficulty for the Campaign and Horde modes, the IronMan Mode for the Campaign and Horde modes, new level six skills for class skills, more skills for existing classes, new achievements, and many more.
