Eight years after Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) was presumed dead, he is coming back in the most unexpected way. A new released "Prison Break" Season 5 trailer shows action-packed events and drama that could possibly explain why Michael landed in the Yemeni jail.
It could be remembered that Michael was suffering from the debilitating brain tumor and had been electrocuted in the Season 4 finale. As previously revealed in "Prison Break" Season 5 spoilers, Michael is alive, but whatever happened to him, and how he survived the threats remains a big question. The only logical explanation is that he cheated his death.
The opening trailer of "Prison Break" sees the conversation between Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies) and her son Mike, where the latter was asking about his father. She compared Michael to a storm that can swiftly come and go. Whether Michael would be still be the same good person that Sara knew in the past or not remains to be seen.
"Prison Break" Season 5 trailer also gives possible explanations why Michael joined the terrorist group ISIL. A wanted poster, showing Michael's face revealed a shocking revelation that the name written was Kaniel Outis instead of Michael. The poster has a written warning that tells that he is a known terrorist and connected to the ISIL, and that he is involved in the killing of a senior CIA official and several bombings.
"We're dealing with ISIS and ISA," Dominic Purcell, who plays Michael's brother Lincoln Burrows, told Deadline. "It got to the point where he couldn't do it anymore, and they threw him in a jail in Yemen to change his mind. He didn't change his mind, they set him up."
Another shocking element in the "Prison Break" Season 5 trailer revealed Michael's new tattoos. There is a speculation that he got it from his initiation into the ISIS group. The new tattoos on his hands suggests the eye of Horus.
In August 2016, Miller told Digital Spy that there is a possibility that Michael is not the same good man that he used to be because of his dark experience. He explained that anyone could end up vulnerable to the horrible events that happened to Michael.
"Prison Break" Season 5 returns on April 4 every Tuesday night at 9/8c on Fox. Watch the new trailer of the new episode titled "Storms Come And They Go" below:
