Visitors try out the game 'SIMS 4' at the Electronic Arts stand at the 2014 Gamescom gaming trade fair on August 14, 2014 in Cologne, Germany.

Avid "The Sims 4" gamers may soon get the chance to see Sim pets in Electronic Arts' life simulation game. Latest gaming news teased of several pet-related items found in hidden game codes.

When "The Sims 4" was released in 2014, many gamers highlighted the lack of several elements and characters that were previously available in "The Sims 3." However, game developers have already introduced some of these missing items either through a patch update or a new DLC.

Recently, the game's development team added the highly-requested toddler life stage to the Electronic Arts' gaming title, as well as supernatural Sim characters specifically vampires. Despite the improvements, avid fans continue to request for more enhancements that include in-game pets.

Game developers Maxis and The Sims Studio have remained tight-lipped about the said Sim characters although hidden game files suggest that they might already be working on adding dogs and cats to "The Sims 4." Eagle-eyed players spotted several Create-A-Sim (CAS) assets that appear to be animal-specific such as a furry body, tail, ears and others, according to the fansite Sims Community.

The hidden game codes suggest the potential addition of a new in-game tool that players can use to create their Sim pet characters. Moreover, many gamers have even considered the said game files as an indication that a "The Sims 4 Pets" DLC might be released in the near future.

In other news, leaked game files also hinted of new CAS items for Sim characters. The said game codes, as posted on the fansite Sims VIP, teased of new brow rings, lips rings and nose rings for Sims.

At this point, it is still unclear whether the said CAS items for Sim characters and pets will be added to "The Sims 4." Game developers have yet to comment on the news.

"The Sims 4" was launched in September 2014, meanwhile, the game's latest vampire-themed DLC was released on Jan. 24. Learn more about the said game pack in the clip below:
