Avid "The Sims 4" gamers were given a surprise treat with the addition of a new Sim life stage to the popular Electronic Arts' game. The latest game patch introduced the beloved Toddler Sim, a new set of skills and traits, as well as new build and buy items.
Toddler Sims are an integral part of the "The Sims" gaming franchise, however, the said characters were not included in "The Sims 4" base game when it was released in September 2014. Recently, Electronic Arts and game developers Maxis and The Sims Studio surprised the gaming community with its Toddler-focused game update.
Patch 1.26.96.1010 for PC and 1.26.96.1210 for Mac re-introduced the adorable Toddler Sims to the game including a slew of toddler related skills, traits and new items. Patch notes posted on "The Sims" forums detailed some of the interesting information about said character such as their aging duration of more than 9 Sim days, nearly indestructible status, as well several new clothing items and build elements such as toddler furniture, potty training chairs, toys and more.
Gamers can also choose from eight new Toddler traits such as Clingy, Angelic, Charmer, Fussy, Independent, Silly, Wild and Inquisitive. Similar to "The Sim 3," Toddler Sims learn specific skills that include potty training, thinking and imagination skills, motor and movement skills, as well as communication skills.
Despite the Toddler Sims' small stature, the said characters are fireproof and will not die even if left starving and unsupervised. However, Toddler Sims that are left uncared for will be taken away by the in-game Child Services team.
For "The Sims 4" gamers planning to create a Toddler Sim for their in-game families, the relationship of the said Sim to other characters should be assigned in the Create-A-Sim mode. The said step is a vital game setting to establish how Toddlers and other Sims will react to each other.
Meanwhile, "The Sims 4" game developers mentioned that adding the Toddler Sim life stage was something that they have been working on for years, according to an announcement posted on the game's website. Highlighting the numerous requests for the said life stage that they received from the gaming community, game developers stated that they needed to "find the right time, resources and design" to incorporate Toddler Sims to the game.
"The Sims 4" latest game patch was deployed on Jan. 12, Thursday. Learn more about the Toddler Sims in the clip below:
