Apple just released the public beta version of its new iOS 8.3 update.

This is the first time the iPhone maker had introduced an operating system update through a public beta program. iOS users will have access to an early version of the new operating system update, which is still in its development phase, according to NDTV.

Similar to the Windows 10 Technical Preview, Apple users will contribute to the development of iOS 8.3 by testing it for the Cupertino-based tech giant.

Just recently, Apple launched its iOS 8.2 update for its users. The beta program of the previous update was open only to app developers.

However, the iOS 8.3 is now open to the public. Interested Apple users can sign up and download the public beta version at the Apple Seed website.

After signing up, Apple users will be required to back up their devices via iTunes and to download a required configuration profile, which will allow iTunes to recognize the iOS 8.3 beta update.

Apple's iOS 8.3 update promises a revamped Emoji keyboard, some bug patches, increased stability and better performance, according to The Inquirer.

The beta release also includes Siri language support besides English, including Turkish, Danish, Thai, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish and Russian.

"This is beta software that is still in development, which means some applications and services may not work as expected," Apple said, adding that glitches may be experienced by iOS 8.3 beta testers.

In addition, the next major step in its mobile operating system, iOS 9, will also be made available via the public beta program after it is unveiled by the company.
