The latest details and spoilers for "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will feature the return of Captain Cold in episode 16 and Eobard Thawne's real plan for the Spear of Destiny.
It seems that Leonard Snart/Captain Cold's (Wentworth Miller) return to "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 has been revealed on episode 16 as several behind-the-scenes photos spotted Snart with Mick Rory/Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell).
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim tweeted the title and script of episode 16 titled "Doomworld", while several photos from YVRShoots were tweeted featuring both Miller and Purcell's characters interacting in a particular scene.
In the photos, the two "Flash" criminals are holding two bags hinting that they are robbing something possibly loads of cash from a bank. Leonard died during the events of "Legends of Tomorrow" season 1 sacrificing his life to save the Legends from the Time Masters.
Leonard made his brief return in the midseason finale of season 2 as a "hallucination" of sorts from Mick Rory himself and it seems that Captain Cold will return for real this this time in episode 16, but not as the Snart that Legends once knew.
Miller told Entertainment Weekly that the Leonard Snart in season 2 will be different and that he is a "straight up villain" unlike in season1. Could this mean that this version of Snart is from the pre-Legends of Tomorrow timeline or he has been corrupted by the Legion of Doom similar to what they did to Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill).
Meanwhile, it seems that the leader of the Legion of Doom, Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) has some other plans for the Spear of Destiny.
It was revealed in episode 10 of "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 that Eobard needed to the Spear of Destiny to "exist" in the universe after what Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) did in "The Flash" season 2 finale. Eobard eventually escape Flashpoint but someone has been hunting him throughout the timeline in the form of a decaying Hunter Zolomon a.k.a. Black Flash.
However, Eobard might have other plans for the spear as the Reverse-Flash might use it to kill the Flash without erasing his existence as he knows that by killing him now, he will not exist in the first place, Screenrant reported.
"Legends of Tomorrow" will return on Feb. 21 9pm on the CW Network.
