Rick and his grandson Morty are looking at ecach other on this episode of "Rick and Morty."

Fans of Adult Swim's unusual tandem of "Rick and Morty" has been teasing fans for the longest time about its third installment. The recent tease could be one of the nastiest as the Australian arm of Cartoon Network's late night programming block infuriated yet delighted fans with a recently uploaded video.

"Rickrolled" as coined by faithfuls, was what just happened to them with the new footage of the show. It featured some spliced clips from previous episodes of the show that cleverly spoke out the lyrics of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up." Adding more insult to injury is a pinned comment from AS Australia being apologetic to the "technical issue" with their video editing.

Jokes are half meant as one would say as writer Mike McMahan took to Twitter to make it known that the show's season premiere script is finished. Such post is a clear indication that "Rick and Morty's" once thought to be canned season is happening after all albeit getting delayed numerous times.

In line with this, one of its creators - Dan Harmon took the fall for such hiatus. In a statement obtained by Slash Film, he stated that it got delayed because of him adding that writing the script took a while to make for some unknown reasons. He even revealed back then that he and co-creator Justin Roiland have frequent clashes in the past that contributed to the show's third season getting bogged down.

As for the show's air date, Harmon told IndieWire that he does not have any information about it and further explained that such knowledge is within "AS' domain." He also set the record straight that both he and AS are in good terms amidst the tweets that he posted previously.

Meanwhile, fans might remember that one of the show's characters - Mr. Poopybutthole, blurted at the end of "Rick and Morty's" sophomore season that they will not be back in a year and a half. Doing the math, its second season ended in October 2015. Hence, if Mr. Poopy's statement is anything to go by, it is assumed that season 3 will be out this March.
