Cristiano Ronaldo has announced that he will be making his acting debut in the upcoming Turkish drama "Hayat Koprusu." The TV series will see the footballer star alongside Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie and Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram.

The exciting news came to light when director Eyup Dirlik confirmed Ronaldo was one of the high-profile cast members he had secured to start filming "Hayat Koprusu" in April, according to Sky News, as cited by The Daily Post. He further added that the upcoming TV series will feature actors and actresses from all over the world.

"We will begin filming in the first week of April," Dirlik said. "The series is about the plight of a refugee family and what they go through. There will be appearances from actors and actresses from all over the world, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Angelina Jolie and Nancy Ajram."

Filming for "Hayat Koprusu" will take place in Turkey's Gaziantep near the Syrian border. It will be aired in the Middle East and Latin America later this year. More details about the project will be revealed soon.

Ronaldo has made no secret of his ambition to break into acting. While promoting a menswear line in February 2016, the footballer revealed he always had an interest in acting ever since he was young, The Daily Mail reported.

"Why not?" Ronaldo said when asked about a potential acting career. "It is not my objective at the moment, but I have had some invitations."

Ronaldo stressed he was not closing any doors. He added he would like to learn more about acting after his days as a footballer come to an end.

In other news, Jolie recently opened up about her impending divorce from Brad Pitt. In a sit-down interview with ABC News' "Good Morning America," the actress said she is putting her six children first, adding that in five years' time, she imagines herself spending time supporting them in the intriguing things they will be doing across the world.
