DeShaun Watson is seen as one of the top prospects for the 2017 NFL Draft, perhaps one of the better quarterbacks from the upcoming class. Knowing he is unlikely to land there, the former Clemson quarterback sent feeler to the Dallas Cowboys – a team unlikely to take him in.

The Dallas Cowboys already have enough problems right now. They have yet to deal with the Tony Romo dilemma with the rise of Dak Prescott. Romo will likely be cut so that he can play for other teams as a starter. If ever the Cowboys take in a quarterback, it may be someone who fits as a backup and not a starter.

Watson called on the Cowboys to trade Prescott and draft him. Unfortunately, that may be far from happening. Watson made the jab during his acceptance of the Davey O’ Brien award for best quarterback, the Star-Telegram reported. Capping that mention with a laugh, there is no question he was simply kidding around and knows where he stands.

On the more realistic side, the Cleveland Browns could use Watson if they decide to use their pick on him. It all boils down to a choice between him and defensive end Myles Garrett. Coach Hue Jackson will likely weigh his options with the final decision expected on NFL Draft Night.

Ironically, Garrett also took a shot at the Cowboys to draft him, ESPN reported. TheTexas A&M pleaded with the Cowboys to draft him in a video message recorded Dec. 8 but released only now. It would later on be revealed that it was nothing more than a joke.

There were initial rumors that Garrett wasn’t too keen on playing for the Browns. He would, later on, explain that he would love to play for any team – including the Browns. The only thing important right now seems to be him being selected no. 1 overall.

Browns coach Hue Jackson has the no. 1 and 12 picks at his disposal. He hasn’t ruled out the possibility of trading the top pick for a veteran. Tony Romo could be a fit but there could be other healthier and younger quarterbacks Cleveland may want to consider.
