It has been made known in 2016 that a live action film adaptation was in the works for Hiromu Arakawa's "Fullmetal Alchemist." In line with this, fans of the franchise were teased yet again with a photo of one of the Elric brothers that made the hype louder than before.
The Japanese arm of Warner Bros. has released a photo of the younger Elric - Alphonse as fans have been clamoring for it since the project was revealed. It can be recalled that the film's announcement trailer only featured glimpses of Edward Elric (Ryosuke Yamada) while Alphonse's iron torso was the only manifestation that he is part of that teaser.
The photo suggests that the production will remain faithful to the anime render of the character as it was created through CGI, according to Comic Book. Moreover, the film's production outfit even hinted that more images from the film will be divulged to its faithfuls as its play date nears.
Now that Yamada-san was tapped to play the youngest state alchemist in the movie and is now known that Alphonse is CGI, no further information was spilled as to who will give voice to the hollow armor. For the uninitiated, Rie Kugimiya voiced over for the character in the anime series and it is yet to be known if her services will be rendered in the upcoming film.
Moreover, the film is said to be the first Japanese featurette to utilize the CG AI alongside a new "visual technology" as it is very much evident on Alphonse's render, Crunchyroll reported. Moreover, it was also revealed that "Fullmetal Alchemist's" release date will be on Dec. 1 which is a treat for Japanese moviegoers.
Major movie houses in Japan has this "first-day discount" at the start of each month. Such move is said to bring in as many "Fullmetal Alchemist" fans as possible.
