BTS, Big Bang, 2PM nab ‘Best 3 Album’ honor at 2017 Japan Gold Disc Awards

Several South Korean boy bands were recognized during the Japan Gold Disc Awards 2017. Big Bang, BTS, as well as 2PM, were honored with the Best 3 Album award for their respective albums.

Big Bang's album "Made Series" was identified as one of the three best albums at the Japan Gold Disc Awards, according to an announcement posted on the event's website. The two other Kpop bands who received the same honor included BTS for "Youth" and 2PM for "Galaxy of 2PM."

Apart from the said award, Big Bang also received four other accolades that included Best Music Video for the Kpop group's "World Tour 2015-2016 Made in Japan" clip and Song of the Year for the Japanese version of "Bang Bang Bang." The boy band was also identified as the Best Asian Artist, while the group's "Made" album was named the Album of the Year.

Other Kpop groups who were honored at the Japan Gold Disc Awards include iKON and N. Flying. iKon nabbed the New Artist of the Year award, as well as one of the Best 3 New Artists (Asia) award. Meanwhile, N. Flying also received the Best 3 New Artist (Asia) honor.

In other news, 2017 is turning out to be another milestone year for BTS. The seven-member boy band's new album "You Never Walk Alone" including the group's two new tracks "Spring Day" and "Not Today" charted on several domestic and international charts.

The septet's music videos for the two songs also reached an impressive feat on YouTube. "Spring Day" surpassed 20 million views on the said video streaming site in less than four days after it was released. However, "Not Today" achieved the same milestone at a faster pace of less than three days, according to All Kpop.
