Taeyeon, Taemin duet song? BLACKPINK wins Rookie of the Year award

It will be interesting to have a collaboration song recorded by Taeyeon of Girl's Generation and Taemin of Shinee. At the 12th Annual Soompi Awards, Taeyeon was named Best Female Solo while Taemin won the Best Male Solo award.

The winners of the annual survey with 29 categories were announced on March 2, Thursday, by Soompi. With Fuse and ZANYBROS as partners, the United States-based online news provider specializing in Korean pop culture received almost 100 million votes from hallyu fans from 139 countries across the globe from Dec. 19, 2016 to Jan. 16.

Taeyeon defeated 14 other nominees. They were Yoon Mirae, Tiffany, Suzy, Lee Hi, Kim Na Young, Jung Eun Ji, Jimin, Jessica, Gummy, Hyorin, Hyuna, Ailee, Baek Ah Yeon and Baek Yerin.

Also, Taemin was chosen over 14 other male solo artists. They were Crush, Eric Nam, Gary, Han Dong Geun, John Park, Jonghyun, K.Will, Kyuhyun, Lee Juck, Lim Chang Jung, Park Hyo Shin, Ryeowook and Zico.

BLACKPINK also won at the 12th Annual Soompi Awards as Rookie of the Year. The K-pop girl group defeated Astro, C.I.V.A, Cosmic Girls, Dean, Gugudan, I.B.I, I.O.I, IMFACT, KNK, NCT, Pentagon, Sam Kim, SF9 and Wable.
