"Training Day" Season 1 episode 6 titled "Faultlines" will air on CBS on March 9, Thursday at 10:00 p.m. In the episode, viewers will see how an investigation into weapons trafficking becomes personal for Tommy Campbell (Drew Van Acker).
An old friend of Tommy will become connected to the case. Elsewhere, Deputy Chief Joy Lockhart (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) will demand to see results from the probe of Det. Kyle Craig (Justine Cornwell) into the actions of Det. Fran Rourke (Bill Paxton).
Because of this, Frank will reveal some surprising information to his trainee. Unfortunately, Paxton did not live to see his "Training Day" character do this.
On Feb. 14, Paxton had surgery replace a heart valve and correct an aortic aneurysm but he died on Feb. 25, according to the death certificate obtained by People. He was 61.
Paxton died just two days after "Training Day" Season 1 episode 4 titled "Code of Honor," which was written by Rebecca Dameron and directed by Milan Cheylov. In the episode, yakuza assassins a longtime friend and informant of Paxton's character and his quest for revenge jeopardized an FBI agent's operation against the same killers.
"Training Day" is a follow up to the 2001 film of the same name. The character played by Paxton in the CBS series is similar to Detective Alonzo Harris (Denzel Washington) because they are both off-the-books.
Washington won his second Academy Award for his performance in the "Training Day" film, which was written by David Ayer and directed by Antoine Fuqua. The film also starred Ethan Hawke and Scott Glenn.
Recently, Washington received his seventh Oscar nomination for his performance in "Fences" but he lost to Casey Affleck. Washington's "Fences" co-star Viola Davis won her first Oscar.
"I really feel this is her time, her turn," Washington told People referring to David. He described her as an "obviously brilliant" and "pretty good" actress.
On the other hand, Paxton had four Golden Globe Award nominations. Here is a video of Conan O'Brien remembering the late "Training Day" actor:
