Chinese smartphone maker OPPO is all set to launch selfie-centric smartphones, preferably the F3 and F3 Plus, which were recently spotted in promotional ads at retail stores in the Philippines. Recently, the company has sent media invites for an official press event scheduled on March 23.
Earlier this week, advertisements on OPPO's upcoming flagships were spotted on countries like Philippines and India. The media event coming on March 23 is titled "Selfie Expert Launch Event," and brands it as the "new era of dual selfie camera."
Although the press invites do not specifically mention the OPPO smartphones, they could suggest at least one smartphone armed with a dual front-facing camera setup designed for selfies. However, the highly-rumored OPPO F3 and F3 Plus smartphones could sport the dual front-facing camera configuration.
As of this writing, no official details on the key specifications and hardware of Oppo F3 and F3 Plus are confirmed, although several rumors are making rounds online.
According to Mobile Indian, the Oppo F3 could sport a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, it will be armed with a Snapdragon 653 SoC featuring eight CPU cores, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage onboard. The smartphone will run on Android Nougat operating system.
Meanwhile, the Oppo F3 Plus is expected to feature a 6-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, GizBot reported. The smartphone is rumored to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 653 SoC, a 4GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
On the camera front, the smartphone comes with a combination of 16MP + 8MP camera front-facing snapper, while its rear-facing camera sports a 16-megapixel shooter with PDAF. The F3 Plus will house a 4000mAh battery with Super VOOC fast charging technology, and will run on Android Nougat operating system with Color OS 3.0 on top of it. It will measure 163.63 x 80.8 x 7.35 mm and weighs 185 grams.
The official key specs and hardware for the OPPO F3 and F3 Plus smartphones are expected to be announced in the press event, where the company will also reveal the pricing and availability for them.
