Ed Sheeran, 26, will not be the only musician to appear in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Recently, metal band Mastodon member Brent Hinds, 43, confirmed that he is appearing on the HBO series for the second time.
In 2015, Hinds and his Mastodon bandmates Bill Kelliher, 45, and Brann Dailor, 41, played wildlings in "Game of Thrones" Season 5 episode 8 titled "Hardhome." The episode was filmed in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
"I watched my best friends Brent and Bill, murdered right in front of me as I myself was stabbed in the stomach and had my throat slit multiple times, and I didn't mind at all," Pitchfork quoted Dailor as saying of the experience. "It made me love being in Mastodon even more."
Mastodon's original song "White Walker" is featured on the "Game of Thrones" mixtape "Catch the Throne Vol. 2." Dan Weiss, David Benioff's co-creator of the HBO series, is a fan of the band.
In 2016, Hinds broke his leg in a motorcycle accident. Before it healed, he filmed another "Game of Thrones" cameo.
Because of his broken leg, Hinds staggered like a zombie. The "Game of Thrones" producers liked it and even gave his character a close-up.
In an episode of Jamey Jasta's podcast titled "The Jasta Show," Hinds revealed that he just came back from his second "Game of Thrones" cameo appearance. He said he was told that he was doing the best zombie walk and was asked to come right towards the camera and drag an axe behind him.
Hinds revealed that he will play "like a reborn, come-to-life Wildling turning into a White Walker" in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Joining him and Sheeran in the guest cast are Jim Broadbent, Tom Hopper, Richard Rycroft, Ben Crompton, Ellie Kendrick, Rupert Vansittart, Tim McInnerny, Daniel Portman, Jacob Anderson, Bella Ramsey, Pilou Asbaek, Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, Jessica Henwick, Hafthor Julius Bjornsson, Josephine Gillan, Gemma Whelan and Diana Rigg.
