Will Ed Sheeran sing in ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7?

On March 12, Sunday, it was confirmed at South by Southwest that Ed Sheeran is joining the cast of "Game of Thrones" Season 7 as a guest actor. The event was attended by Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and series creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff.

Turner and Williams moderated a conversation at a South by Southwest panel. During the conversation, Weiss and Benioff explained why they added Sheeran in the guest cast of "Game of Thrones" Season 7.  

Apparently, Williams is a big fan of Sheeran and for years, the series creators had tried to land Sheeran as a surprise for her, Vanity Fair quoted Benioff as saying during a conversation by. It was only this season that they finally made it happen.

What Weiss and Benioff did not confirm is whether or not Sheeran is singing in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Before appearing on the HBO series, the singer appeared in the 2016 film "Bridget Jones's Baby."

Sheeran will not be the only musician to join the cast of "Game of Thrones" Season 7 as a guest actor. Metal band Mastodon member Brent Hinds, 43, confirmed in an episode of Jamey Jasta's podcast titled "The Jasta Show" that he is making his second appearance on the HBO show.

In the podcast, Hinds revealed that he just came back from his second "Game of Thrones" cameo appearance. According to him, he was told that he was doing the best zombie walk and was asked to come right towards the camera and drag an axe behind him.

Hinds described his character in "Game of Thrones" Season 7 as "like a reborn, come-to-life Wildling turning into a White Walker." As a Mastodon member, he shares vocal duties with Brann Dailor, 41, and Troy Sanders, 43, and guitar duties with Bill Kelliher, 45.

Sheeran and Hinds will not be the only guest actors in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Ellie Kendrick, Gemma Whelan, Diana Rigg, Josephine Gillan, Bella Ramsey, Jessica Henwick, Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, Hafthor Julius Bjornsson, Daniel Portman, Ben Crompton, Richard Rycroft, Tim McInnerny, Pilou Asbaek, Rupert Vansittart, Jim Broadbent, Tom Hopper and Jacob Anderson.
