"Beauty and the Beast" is back through live-action. It brags castings of Josh Gad, Luke Evans, Dan Stevens, and the stunning Emma Watson. It is a much awaited Disney remake with more big stars coming up as additions to the production. The new film will be released March 17, 2017 in 3D.
Evans plays the vain bad guy Gaston, Gad is Gaston's sidekick Lefou, Stevens is the Beast, and Watson is Belle.
Illustrious star Kevin Kline joins the premium casting as Maurice the inventor, who happens to be Belle's father.
The great Emma Thompson makes her way to the Beast's castle by playing the lovable Mrs. Potts. Her role is head housekeeper, who turns into a teapot, when an enchantress casts a spell on everyone.
Production is expected to start later part of the year.
Meanwhile, Watson accepted her role as Belle last January. She is very happy with her character as shown in her post on Twitter.
"It's a huge part of growing up, that it feels like a dream to dance as a guest, and sing something. My six year old self is at its hype - my heart's bursting. I should start few singing lessons soon. And I'm excited to let people see it," she says.
Recently, as quoted in her interview with Total Film magazine, she is eager and ready for the challenge.
"It's a chance to sing in a film as the audience will see a different me. It can be terrifying, but it's a great challenge indeed."
Bill Condon, who once directed "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn", directs the live-action film.
It will be produced by Mandeville Films under Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman.
The main cast should sing the Disney remake's original songs.
