Motherhood Changes Ruby Lin’s Personality

Before 41-year-old Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin gave birth in January to her daughter whom she nicknamed “Little Angel,” she continued working. Ruby even went on a short vacation with Shu Qi, a Taiwanese model, and Kelly Lin, a Taiwanese actress, who are her good friends.

Baby is Top Priority

However, after she gave birth in early 2017, Ruby said her personality changed. She used to be temperamental and impatient, but she now accommodates her infant’s needs, Toggle reported. The actress, who is married to Wallace, fits into her schedule the need to feed Little Angel every four hours.

When she is outside having fun, she feels like going home because of so much happiness that her daughter gives her. Ruby is back to work now as female lead and producer of a new drama, “My Boy.” The drama has her involved in an affair with a younger man, played by 24-year-old actor Derek Chang.

“The Devotion of Suspect X”

Her canned movie, “The Devotion of Suspect X” premiered on March 31 in China, North America, Australia and New Zealand. According to Screen Daily, the film which co-stars Kai Wang, now has a gross of $22.4 million after it earned $330,000 on its opening which is number 15 globally.

The film dominated the first day, however, by Saturday and Sunday, “Kong: Skull Island” overtook the Chinese crime thriller, but it managed to place second overall for the weekend in China. Directed by Alec Su (“The Left Ear”), the movie is based on a novel by Keigo Higashino, an award-winning Japanese author. Before the Chinese version, a Japanese and Korean version of the book was previously made.

After the Lunar Festival, the Chinese box office continued to go down for the second consecutive month in 2017. Total earnings of all movies shown in March went down by nine percent to $490 million compared to 12 months ago. In February, the decline was by a drastic 57 percent.
