Is another "Grease" sequel in the works? John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John recently reunited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic musical movie. The actress also teased the possibility of working with Travolta for another "Grease" movie.
Travolta and Newton-John were the face of the 1978 classic that made them household names and iconic stars. 40 years later, Newton-John teased they are working on a special project to bring back Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson and their love story.
"We are thinking up ways. Nothing to announce yet," the 68-year-old actress told Mirror. "Forty years anniversary of Grease, which I can't believe. Time goes so fast. It is so exciting."
Travolta and Newton-John have remained friends. The actress also revealed that she almost did not accept the role of Sandy, but changed her mind when Travolta won her over and convinced her to sign up.
"John was charming and really wanted me to do it, and that was one of the deciding factors," the actress said, as quoted by Mail Online. "He's a lovely man - we became great friends and he was very helpful to me on set, as I was not an experienced actress.
Travolta also admitted in a previous interview that he had a huge crush on his onscreen love interest even before they worked together on "Grease." At the time, Newton-John was already a massive recording artist, and Travolta believed that no one else in the world could play Sandy other than her.
Newton-John shared that she has to warm up her voice if ever another "Grease" movie pushes through. "You have to keep that muscle toned and that's important and I love to sing," the actress said.
She has been battling cancer since 1992. She has dedicated her life to raising money for the Breast Cancer Research. She also donated her album sales to charity.
Meanwhile, Travolta has been doing some singing in movies in the past year. He starred in the musical movie "Hairspray" and also sang with Miley Cyrus for the soundtrack of the Disney movie "Bolt."
