"The Avengers" are a fictional team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

More "Avengers: Infinity War" teasers are going out, and the most recent one involves the movie's primary villain. Actor Josh Brolin, who plays Thanos, did a bit of teasing on Thanos' quest to find all the Infinity Stones in "Avengers: Infinity War."

Brolin shared a photo on Instagram showing his character Thanos rendered in a 1980s style 8-bit video game. The image shows all six Infinity Stones floating above Thanos' head. The teaser has a reference to the main plot point in the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War." In the sequel, Thanos is expected to seek out all the Infinity Stones which has been scattered around the universe, some of which are in the possession of known Marvel Cinematic Universe characters.

Although some of the Infinity Stones have appeared in the earlier movies in the MCU, it wasn't until "Guardians of the Galaxy" that viewers were given the lowdown on what they are, where they came from and what power they possess. So far, five of the six Infinity Stones have appeared in the movies. The question is, where are the stones now?

The Space Stone was first seen in "Captain America: The First Avenger." It's otherwise known as the Tesseract and currently locked away in Asgard. The Mind Stone was first seen in Loki's staff, which he used in to control Hawkeye in "Avengers." As of "Avengers: The Age of Ultron," the Mind Stone is now embedded in Vision's forehead.

The Reality Stone, also called the Aether, is currently with the Collector. The Power Stone was stored in the orb Star-Lord discovered in "Guardians of the Galaxy." It is currently under the safekeeping of the Nova Corps.

The latest Infinity Stone to debut in on the big screen is the Time Stone, which is stored in the Eye of Agamott amulet currently in the possession of Doctor Strange.

According to Digital Spy, the Soul Stone is the only Infinity Stone that's still unaccounted for. James Gunn has said that the Soul Stone will not be in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" which leaves "Spider-Man: Homecoming," "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Black Panther" as the movies where the said stone is likely to pop up prior to "Avengers: Infinity War."

"Avengers: Infinity War" hits theaters on April 27, 2018.
