It was way back in 2014 when "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" was released on the big screen. Since the release of the third installment of the rebooted franchise is closing in, reports say that "War for the Planet of the Apes" will unveil Caesar's (Andy Serkis) declaration of war against the humans.

It can be recalled that the first installment of the rebooted franchise was released in 2011, which introduced Caesar whom will soon be the leader of his kind in the succeeding films. The movie was a box office hit that generated $481 million from a budget of $93 million. Its success paved the way for the release of a sequel, and now the upcoming third installment of the franchise.

According to Empire Online, viewers will witness the revenge of Caesar in "War for the Planet of the Apes." It was said that Caesar will experience a tragic event in the anticipated film, which will be the triggering point for him to hunt the leader of the humans. The same publication cited the latest antagonist of the movie, The Colonel, which will be played by Woody Harrelson. The source also noted that the film has been directed by Matt Reeves who helmed "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes."

On the other note, the trailer of the "War for the Planet of the Apes" revealed the plot of the upcoming movie, Independent UK has learned. It can be seen in the trailer that the camp of the Apes was attacked by the humans, as what was ordered by the antagonist Colonel. The trailer also showed Caesar getting captured by the humans and being tortured by the Colonel himself. Aside from that, it also revealed that Caesar and his crew were seeking for a safer place for his kind.

In regards to the release date of "War for the Planet of the Apes," it has been confirmed that the film will be on the big screen by July this year.
