With "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" opening to stellar reviews and massive box office numbers, lead star Chris Pratt is definitely on a roll. A lot of Pratt's recent projects have turned to gold such as "Jurassic World" and "The LEGO Movie," wherein the latter is getting a sequel that Pratt promises fans will love.

Since the inception of "The LEGO Movie" and the success that followed it, "LEGO" has expanded into the world of cinema with other successful films like February's "The LEGO Batman Movie" and the upcoming "The LEGO Ninjago Movie." With all these movies coming up, fans are wondering where the original movie's sequel will take viewers next.

While promoting "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," Pratt gave a brief update on what's coming in "The Lego Movie Sequel." To refresh your memory, the final act of "The LEGO Movie" showed that the world in the film was in fact constructed and controlled by a man in the real world, portrayed by Will Ferrell. Pratt explained that "The LEGO Movie Sequel" will deal primarily with this storyline.

"Because, as all the best movies do, it paints itself into a corner. Especially by tearing down the fourth wall in the final act. That's a major jump, so they've got some really awesome ideas on how to deal with that and I can't wait for people to see it," Pratt told Gizmodo.

Pratt added that he's done some work on "The LEGO Movie Sequel," and that he is about to see the newest draft of the script in the next few weeks.

"The LEGO Movie Sequel" is expected to hit theaters on Feb. 8, 2019, a big bump from its original May 18, 2018 release date. Apart from Pratt, there is no word yet as to which stars are expected to return, including Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks and Alison Brie. Will Arnett, however, is anticipated to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman since he also voiced the character in "The LEGO Batman Movie."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The LEGO Movie" grossed $468.7 million worldwide. The film was directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
