Emma Watson, Who Stars As Belle In Disney's Beauty And The Beast, Shares Her Love Of Books With Children From The NY Film Society For Kids At Lincoln Center's Beale Theater

Following the ginormous success of "Beauty and the Beast," it appears that Disney might do a follow-up to the retelling of the classic fairytale. Emma Watson, who played Belle in the live-action film, revealed that she already has plans for her character.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Watson revealed that she would love to do a sequel of "Beauty and The Beast." As a matter of fact, she already has a vision for her role. "I always thought that Belle would become a teacher and she would run a library in the castle and open it up to the village. This was where I was going."

Belle's desire to become a teacher was seen in "Beauty and The Beast," particularly that one scene where she taught a girl how to read. The villagers, however, despised Belle for doing so because it did not confirm to women's roles in their society.

Watson's on-screen partner, Dan Stevens who played Beast/Prince Adam, is also open to reprising his role. "That's not a question for me," Stevens said, as reported by Movie Web. "I'm not sure what turn that would take. I'm open to offers. It would seem odd for me to hear about it, but never say never."

Although Disney has not green-lit a "Beauty and the Beast 2," the successful performance of the film in terms of box office receipts and critical acclaim is enough to charge a sequel. "Beauty and the Beast" raked in $1 billion at the box office worldwide, making it the highest-grossing musical film in movie history. The movie also made the biggest opening or a PG-rated movie in the US.

Disney's 1991 "Beauty and the Beast" opened the doors to two sequels, "Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas" and "Belle's Magical World." Although the live-action sequel would not necessarily follow the plot of these two films, it just goes to show that a "Beauty and the Beast" sequel is possible and that there is more to Belle and Prince Adam's story beyond their happily ever after.
