Nissan Motor Co. announced a new addition to its impressive lineup of cars, the 2016 Nissan GT-R, for the United States.

The Japanese automaker upgraded the under-the-hood features on the new Nissan GT-R, including new 20-inch wheels and a VR38DETT engine to power the car.

Nissan is also throwing a rare Gold Edition to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the first Skyline GT-R dubbed as "Hakosuka". The 2016 GT-R Gold Edition Premium and its VIN plates will be painted with a Silica Brass shade of gold, similar to the R34 2001 Skyline GT-R M-Spec. Additionally, a commemorative plaque will be featured on the car's console.

Dan Passe, a spokesperson for the car company, told Autoblog that Nissan will be selling only about 30 or less Gold Edition 2016 Nissan GT-Rs in the U.S. Also, the special edition will cost $1,000 more from the $101,770 starting price of the Premium Edition.

Usain Bolt, a six-time gold medalist for Olympic sprinting, received his own golden Nissan GT-R golden edition in 2013.

All 2016 Nissan GT-R models, including the Black Edition, will have a $1,595 destination charge.

The new engine from the Yokohama-based automobile manufacturer dishes out five more horsepower to reach 550 HP for the Black and Premium edition. Meanwhile, the 2016 GT-R Nismo model stays put at 600 HP and 481 lb-ft of torque.

The Premium edition will be sporting new 20-spoke aluminum wheels in replacement of the 2015 model's 10-spoke wheels, according to the Washington Post.

The 2016 Nissan GT-R Black Edition will have a price tag starting at $111,510, while the NISMO comes close to the 150,000 mark at $149,990.
