Rumors are spreading that Google will bring back the popular Nexus 5 handset this year as the next generation in its smartphone line
According to Autoomobile, Google is thinking of reviving the Nexus 5 handset that will have specs and features close to that of original Nexus 5 handset. The new handset will also bring back the well-loved pricing of the previous Nexus 5 handset in the Google Play Store. The report added that Google is tapping Huawei to be the manufacturer of the alleged reboot of Nexus 5.
The rumor was sparked by a concept image designed by Derek Kruk and Jack McNenny. Concept Phones published that the handset sports a 5.1 inch screen display with quad HD resolution, Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 20 megapixel back camera and a 5 MP front shooter, 3000 mAh battery, as well as dual front speakers.
The design of the device looks similar to the Nexus 6 smartphone. Based from the photos, the smartphone's back panel is pretty unique offering colorful customizations. The device remained to be seen as there is no official confirmation yet from Google whether they have concrete plans in resurrecting the Nexus 5.
On the other hand, while Nexus 5 was axed from the Google Play Store last week after the tech giant updated the Play Store, the handset received the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. The said update was supposed to fix the faulty features of the Android 5.0 version. However, a number of Nexus 5 owners posted on Google's Product Forums claiming that Android 5.1 prompted various issues like problems with data connections and random reboots.
Some users said that they were able to rectify the problem by clearing the cache, but those who are unlucky resorted to resetting theirs units to its factory settings. However, these temporary fixes offered no guarantee to users.
