iPhone 7 release date will most likely happen later this year and it may include the new USB C Port that was first spotted in the new Apple MacBook.

Apple MacBook offers significant improvements on the features of Apple's laptop. The device packs a 12-inch Retina screen display, Intel Core M processor, as well as the new and universal USB C port. The inception of the new USC C port signaled the company's move in using the new port. Thus, this led to speculations that the upcoming iPhone 7 will come with the same USB port and will replace the current lightning.

According to iDigital Times, Apple will pack the USB C to make it simpler for users having a universal port across Apple devices. Users owning various Apple devices will no longer have to bring different cables. Moreover, Apple may feel the need to push the new technology; especially since it is receiving rave reviews.

This is not the first time that Apple replaced its connector. Originally, the iPhone comes with 30-pin dock connector that Apple users have grown accustomed for. However, when iPhone 5 was released, the 30-pin was replaced with 8-pin lightning connector, which is reversible and save a lot of space inside the device.

Aside from USB C port, some of the purported features of the upcoming iPhone 7 are A9 processor, 4 GB of RAM, iOS 9 with software features such as Car Play, Apple Watch, HealthKit, and Apple Pay as well as improved Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Tech website VentureBeat stated that a "special" iPhone 7 will arrive next year with various models, including a variant that targets emerging markets in Asia and Latin America. This could mean that Apple will announce a cheaper iPhone next year. The report also claimed that next year's iPhone will pack Intel chipset dropping the A9 processor. Apple offered no comment regarding the rumors.
