Good Sleep For Women Equals More Sex With Their Male Partners: Study

Researchers from the University of Michigan Medical School may have found the answer to make women crave more sex, or at least increase their libido.

The study, which was recently published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, indicated that more hours of sleep may equal to increased desire for sex.

Dr. David Kalmbach, the study's lead author, focused on the sleeping study because the previous researchers did not take any interest in the link between a person's libido and insufficient sleep, according to the Daily Times Gazette.

The researchers managed to prove that women who sleep less than the suggested hours, their craving for sex dwindles. However, Kalmbach said that simply sleeping more is not the solution.

The study involved 171 female participants. The women were surveyed about their sleeping habits during a two-week period. The researchers then linked their sleep hours from the night to their desire for sex on the next day, according to News24.

The participants were also asked whether they masturbated when their sexual partners were not in the mood to have sex with them.

After analyzing the results, it was concluded that there is a 14 percent increase in the chance for the women to have sex with their partner for every extra hour they sleep during the night. The researchers also discovered that women who had better quality of sleep tend to enjoyed having sex more compared to those female participants who slept less.

"I think these findings suggest that taking a closer look at sleep health in women with sexual complaints is a worthwhile endeavor," said Kalmbach.

Dr. Nathaniel F. Watson from the University of Washington said that the new intriguing research does show a link between sex and sleep, but people should be cautious to jump into conclusions based on the study alone.
