Revealed earlier this year during the Consumer Electronics Show, the concept car Mercedes Benz F 015 came up close and personal to the San Francisco Community.

The futuristic appeal that it brought out appeared like it came out of a sci-fi film. Run by a hybrid electric fuel cell producing a range of 559 miles and a battery that is able to power 124 miles worth of travel, the luxurious vehicle is designed uniquely to please cameras and sensors for road monitoring.

It has four interior sports lounge chairs, which served as the company's ideal vision for a comfortable, impact-protected experience. The door of this self-driving car makes entrance and exit a cinch, while seating allows its passengers to converse face-to-face with so much ease.

In its promotional materials, Dieter Zetsche, head of Mercedes-Benz cars and chairman of Daimler AG, said "Anyone who focuses solely on the technology has not yet grasped how autonomous driving will change our society. The car is growing beyond its role as a mere means of transport and will ultimately become a mobile living space," the company's site wrote.

Aside from providing a riding comfort, it could also communicate with the surroundings both acoustically and visually. Its LED displays in the rear and front allows the passengers to see the vehicle's laser protection system, while its acoustic repertoire of communication includes sounds and a special ability to receive voice instructions.

While its appearance brought happiness to car enthusiasts, there are speculations that its "coming-out" was just for one of the company's promotional video shoot, the Wired Magazine said.
