Jennifer Lopez belted out her new single, "Feel The Light," for the upcoming animated movie "Home" in American Idol on Thursday.
The singer's high voice was equally matched her expansive white dress that spread out around her on the floor creating a magical aura.
Lopez's recent performance at the reality singing show was a break away from her usual sing and dance style. In contrast to her energetic performances of the past, the singer stood absolutely still as she performed the beautiful ballad from the new animated movie. The singer's off-shoulder white dress with an enormous circular train gave an enchantin feel to the melodious song.
As the song proceeded, Lopez's white voluminous Mariel Haenn gown became the screen of the projector as amazing images and backdrops from the film were played on it. The gown is reported to be about 20 feet in circumference, Us Weekly reported
The clever play of light and special effects on the gown made it a part of the back drop. "Wow," said Ryan Seacrest, as Lopez's performance ended, Daily Mail reported. "Can we even continue the show after that?"
"Home" is set to hit the theatres on Mar. 27. The movie also features Rihanna and Steve Martin. The "Monster-in-Law" star has associated herself with a children's movie for the first time.
"It's the first movie I've been in that my kids had heard about before I told them," gushed the actress while talking about her upcoming flick. This is also the first time that the 45-year-old stunner has released a ballad as a single track. The singer also commented after the performance that it is weird for her not to move.
