UPDATE: Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman and Kenny McCormick are set to come back on "South Park" season 19 premiere on Sept. 16.
After ending its 18th season with the "#HappyHolograms" episode on Dec. 10, 2014, "South Park" is yet to return for its next season.
Shortly after "South Park" season 18, a source who claimed to have "worked close to the 'South Park' writing team for some time" reportedly leaked information about the animated program's seasons 19 and 20 shifting to a live action format, National Report has learned.
In "South Park" season 18 episode 7 titled "Grounded Vindaloop," the main characters used a virtual reality device with Stan removing the virtual reality helmet and revealing a live action shot of the characters standing around a computer.
However, "South Park" season 18 episodes 8-10 reverted back to the standard animated format.
It is yet to be confirmed if "South Park" season 19 and season 20 are going live action.
Meanwhile, the award-winning comedy musical "The Book Of Mormon" by "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and "Frozen" and "Avenue Q" writer Robert Lopez is kicking off the 2015-16 season at Tempe's ASU Gammage, AZ Central reported.
After opening on Broadway in March 2011, "The Book Of Mormon" received rave reviews and enjoyed packed house. Critics say this is because of the fact that it offends everyone, which is the same shock value "South Park" is known for,
In 2012, "The Book Of Mormon" won nine trophies from Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The story of the musical revolves around two missionaries from Salt Lake City who suffer a crisis of faith after being sent to preach in war-torn Uganda with poverty and violence they are not prepared to face.
