"Frozen" star Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs secretly finalized their divorce on Dec. 3, 2014, TMZ has learned.
In December 2013, Menzel and Diggs announced their split. However, court documents revealed that there was no further action until November 2014, when Diggs filed the divorce petition in New York.
The finalization of the former couple's divorce was reportedly quick and their break-up has been amicable. Apparently, the division of their assets and child custody were settled smoothly as they both agreed to raise their son Walker Nathaniel Diggs, 5, peacefully together.
Menzel and Diggs met during the original production of "Rent," in which Diggs portrayed the role of the landlord named Benjamin Coffin III, in 1995. They got married on Jan. 11, 2003 and Menzel gave birth to their son in Sept. 2, 2009.
Meanwhile, Menzel was recently criticized on social media because of her televised performance of the Academy Award winner "Frozen" soundtrack "Let It Go" on the "New Year's Rockin' Eve" show of ABC.
In response, the 43-year-old Tony winner took to Twitter to share a copy of part of a recent interview she had with Southwest magazine.
In the photo of the magazine page she tweeted, Menzel said, "There are about
3 million notes in a two-and-a-half-hour musical; being a perfectionist, it took me a long time to realize that if I'm hitting 75 percent of them, I'm succeeding."
For Menzel, performing is not just about the acrobatics and the high notes but "staying in the moment, connecting with the audience in an authentic way, and making yourself real to them through the music."
