Tang Wei is one of the big winners in the recently held annual dinner of the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild.

The Hong Kong Film Directors’ Guild handed the Best Actress and Best Actor awards to Tang Wei and Lau Ching Wan during its annual dinner on Wednesday.

Tang starred in the Chinese-Hong Kong drama film "The Golden Era," where she played the role of Xiao Hong, one of the two most important 20th-century China writers.

"I already got this award, I'm already very satisfied," Tang, who rose to fame with her stint at "Lust, Caution" shared.

"If the whole crew, the director and our film can receive more recognition, that would be something the cast and crew want," she added.

True enough, the box-office hit was declared as the Best Film, while its director, Ann Hui, bagged the Best Director award.

Meanwhile, "Overheard 3" star Lau Ching Wan snagged the Best Actor Award. Lau, who portrayed the role of a thug, is one of the four lead actors in the third installment of the financial thriller.

Lau shared how delighted he was with the prestigious recognition. He remarked:

"This award is very special to me because it's the directors who voted. This is the first time for me to receive an award here. It's very special because they're all directors. They're very professional. When you're shooting a film, you listen to the director and now, to receive this award, I feel very honored and happy."

Other winners were Ivana Wong (Best New Performer) and Ruby Yang (Best New Director).

Cinematographer Chan Kwok Hung was the recipient of a special posthumous award. He drowned on the set of Jackie Chan's "Skiptrace."
