Contemporary horror and supernatural author Stephen King and gothic writer Joe Hill gave a positive feedback on Guillermo del Toro's new masterpiece - "Crimson Peak."
King shared his thoughts about the horror film on his Twitter post. He described del Toro's new film as "gorgeous" and "terrifying." The anticipated "Crimson Peak" also "electrified" the writer, the same emotion he had when he first watched Sam Rami's "Evil Dead."
Recognized gothic author Joe Hill also gave his insights on the forthcoming movie on Twitter. He said that the film is the "most beautiful of all" among the thirteen most beautiful horror films on his list.
"CRIMSON PEAK is Del Toro's blood-soaked AGE OF INNOCENCE, a gloriously sick waltz through Daphne Du Maurrier territory," he also said.
"Crimson Peak" is an upcoming horror film, which is about a woman who finds out that her new husband is not who he appears to be.
The film will star Mia Wasikoska as Edith Cushing, Tom Hiddleston as Sir Thomas Sharpe, Jessica Chastain as Lady Lucille Sharpe, Charlie Hunnam as Dr. Alan McMichael, and Jim Beaver Caster Cushing.
Young Edith Cushing will be played by Sofia Wells.
Director del Toro is set to pilot the upcoming film, along with Maguy Cohen, Callum Greene, Jon Jashni, Jillian Share, and Thomas Tull as his co-producers. Matthew Robbins is set to pen the story together with del Toro. The film will be produced by Legendary pictures and DDY and will be distributed by Universal Pictures.
Del Toro is also known for his previous works such as "Cronos" (1993), "The Devil's Backbone" (2001), "Pan's Labyrinth" (2006), "Hell Boy II" (2008), "The Hobbit" series (2012-2014), "Pacific Rim" (2013), and "The Strain" TV series. Now, "Crimson Peak" serves as a tribute to "The Haunting" and "The Innocents", as per Irish Times.
Principal photography commenced in Toronto on February 10 last year. Filming took place in Kingston, Ontario on April 14 last year.
The film is set to be released in theaters in the United States on October 16.
