Kelly Osbourne Has Cancer Gene Like Angelina Jolie; 'Fashion Police' Former Co-Host Plans To Get Surgery Soon

Kelly Osbourne is a popular TV presenter and fashion critic.

Angelina Jolie recently declared publicly about her decision to remove her ovaries and fallopian tube as a preventive action against cancer, ABC News reported. Shortly after this, former "Fashion Police" co-host Kelly Osbourne announced that she also has to get the same surgery.

Osbourne was speaking on the show "The Talk," just a few hours after Jolie made her story public through a tell-all essay, explaining how she underwent the preventive surgery as she was discovered with early signs of cancer.

"I agree with this 100%," said the 30-year-old during the show filling in for her mother, Sharon Osbourne. "I know that one day I will eventually have to do it, too."

Sharon is a cancer survivor who has fought a long battle against colon cancer and had got double mastectomy done when she discovered the early signs of breast cancer.

The late Joan Rivers' former "Fashion Police" co-host also revealed that her mother had ensured that her kids also undertake the tests to detect the cancer gene mutation.

Since Kelly was detected with the genes, she too has to undergo the similar operation as Jolie, sooner or later. The presence of these genes in a body elevates the risk of developing cancer manifolds. However, the show host did not mention exactly when she is planning to get the surgery done.

Jolie's revelations about her preventive surgery are applauded world over by cancer experts for creating awareness on genetic testing of women to detect the chances of cancer at an early stage, USA Today reported. Jolie has three biological and three adopted children with her husband Brad Pitt. The actress also declared in an op-ed article that she could not have any more children after the operation.
