With the call of denouement of British period drama "Downton Abbey" after its sixth season, talks for a series spin-off or a movie are around the corner, as reported by Vanity Fair.

If believed what Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes and executive producer Gareth Neame have said about their next big plans regarding the period drama, recently in couple of interviews, Neame has stated possibilities for a spin-off or a Downton Abbey movie.

At least Neame came close to the possibility of turning the drama series into a film. "It would be a wonderful extension as it is something that Fellowes and I have been contemplating," Neame told Hollywood reporter this week. He also said that he wanted to work with Fellowes in the near future on other projects if all the others things teamed well.

Though none of them have cleared out anything about their upcoming projects. As the Emmy-winning show is still filming, later when the filming got finished they might start thinking over its movie adaptation.

Neame seems unworried and open to all sorts of ideas as he thinks "We will find an amazing story for a Downton movie, but that is all for the future."

The movie could be on a different note not necessarily picked directly from the stories of the series as said by Neame in a press conference.

About the possible spinoffs, he said that there were no plans yet, also he would not want to be involved with any of the future projects related to Downton Abbey without Fellowes.
