The upcoming devices was seen on Best Buy in their Canada region and other retailers have started listing it as well. The devices already have a confirmed price tag. The Roku 3 has been confirmed to come with a price tag of $135 while the Roku 2, which has lower hardware specifications will be shipped to consumers for $95.

While the company is yet to make an official announcement of their upcoming products, the retailers have confirmed that voice control features will be an important new addition to the new Roku devices, according to a report by Pocket Lint.

Under the hood, the hardware specifications has been bumped significantly so that Roku 3 could support full HD streaming as well as allows users to easily switch between channels. The conventional vertical boxes are now undergoing an overhaul and the new design prompts users to place it horizontally.

For the convenience of users, the remote's design has been modified with additional quick launch buttons including one to readily access Youtube while there's a dedicated button for Google Play. Earlier Roku 2 devices comes bundled with a standard earphone which will be discontinued in the new model.

Digital Spy reported that the company may have included hardware capabilities in the new Roku 2 and Roku 3 boxes. The function will be activated in the coming months so that they could support 4K video streaming later. The pricing has been confirmed by a retailer but it might slightly vary with specific regions.

The Roku streaming boxes is leading the race even though they have a tough competition from Google Chromecast and Apple TV in the home entertainment division. While most other devices rely on specific operating systems, Roku is versatile and supports majority of apps which continues to be its selling point.
