Chinese developers are now securing a share in the global market with the help of Google Play.

Google is focusing strongly on its Android platform which has witnessed phenomenal growth in a short time span. The Play Store has received the latest 5.4 update which brings in some interesting new additions and removes specific features.

The notification bar has received the biggest overhaul of them all as it has been made fully transparent whenever users visit an app page. Because of the color and the space occupied by the bar, the Play Store as a whole looked longer and users found it tough to read the content that they actually need. After multiple comments in the community forum, the engineers at Android has decided to make it transparent, Android Police reported.

The Play Store widgets has also been disabled for the moment and is expected to be restored later. In all the newly launched updates, Google has been focusing on making it easier for users to find apps, games and other content on the store.

Making the notification bar nearly invisible on the app pages help a lot as it was a distraction that reduced the significance of the information provided in the page. Other changes has also been made along with version 5.4 but the company didn't reveal them officially in their change log.

For users who like to experience the latest features in the Play Store update, the APK is available for download from multiple third party vendors. They have to manually download the file, transfer it to their device and install it using a file manager, Phandroid reported.

The listing page has also been modified which now lists the video on top followed by an image of the app or movie while other details including reviews, downloads can be found below.
