According to a recent study, drinking coffee can help reduce the risk of getting skin cancer, reports University Herald. The coffee lovers will not develop malignant melanoma as the coffee consumption on a daily basis creates a protective effect against this disease and prevents the formation of skin cancer.

A proper study was conducted to get to this result. The researchers collected data from around 500,000 men and those who were known to consume coffee regularly, showed a life span of 10 years more than the non coffee drinkers.

All the subjects who had participated in this study were cancer free and were chosen in a way such that there was a mixture and variety of cast, creed, age and sex; so that the study will not be biased in any form.

After the study, it was concluded that those who showed the highest intake of coffee were inversely proportional and linked to the chance of getting malignant melanoma. That implies that there is a 20 percent lower risk of getting this kind of cancer if you drink coffee on a regular basis.

Also, if you intake coffee more than once in a day, your chances on getting this disease will be lowered further. The people who consume just 1 cup of coffee on a daily basis will still be more prone towards getting skin cancer than those who consume more than 4 cups of coffee on a regular basis.

These results still need further clarifications and justifications but the scientists who were involved in this study are absolutely certain that more the coffee you drink, lesser you will be exposed to a disease like skin cancer.
