Snapchat released an updated emoji, Monday the Business Insider reported. This is to replace its previous "best friends" feature which made people postal when it was put into trash in January.

"Starting today, a bunch of emojis will be popping up in your Snapchat friends list. No, they weren't just our favorite ones (shout out to the poop emoji), they actually mean something super important - they break down your whole squad," the company announced.

The updated emojis can be found on next to your contact names under the snapchat list. This will show which friends you converse with the most and which ones are under the "wayside".

Snapchat's new features could stir real-life problems because it could ignite guilt on users about not "snapping" with friends, Tech Crunch wrote.

Aside from the emojis, the company is also rolling out two more features. The Snapchat's camera was previously terrible with regards to lighting when compared with other default cameras. Now, it has a low-light camera that allows users to lighten their images under a dark setting, like concerts and night parties, through clicking a moon icon in the screen's topmost corner.

The company is also encouraging you to send snaps to contacts who you have not seen and conversed with for a while. If you proceed to the part where you pick contacts to send a snap, shown in the "Recent" list are those that you have snapped with the most while "Needs Love" list are those that you used to actively Snap with, but have not sent a message in a while.
