Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls point guard, is expected to play again after having an arthroscopic right knee surgery on Feb. 27.
The Bulls dropped stats to 10-10 as Rose remain absent due to his injury. The team lost 99-94 as the Cleveland Cavaliers won their 18th straight game at Quicken Loans Arena in a possible playoff preview. Rose's impending comeback has left the Bulls team confident enough to face the succeeding game.
"It would be great to play them in the playoffs," Joakim Noah said. "It would be very, very exciting. It's something I really hope happens."
According to the Chicago Tribune, the NBA point guard will be back on the hardcourt during the regular season after the surgery. Just the right timeline of four to six weeks allotted to remove a small tear on his right knee.
The Bulls is scheduled to play against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, the Miami Heat on Thursday, and at Chicago on Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers. Rose was able to finish practice games the previous week without a problem.
Tom Thibodeau, Chicago Bulls coach, disclosed that they are hopeful that Rose will be able to play well and that they do not plan to make him play the same amount of time he used to spend inside the hardcourt. They want him to feel comfortable enough to play, Chicago Sun Times reported.
"Just Derrick on the floor helps our team," Thibodeau said.
Coach Thibodeau explained how Rose affects the team's confidence. He mentioned that they do not expect him to make tons of points but rather just go in there and play. It is good enough for him and the teams to see him back in the game giving what he's got because for them, he makes every game easy for everybody.
