‘Spider-Man’ Reboot: One Of These Actors Could Replace Andrew Garfield In The Superhero’s Role

Ever since Marvel announced its tie-up with Sony for the film "Spider-Man," fans are wondering who would be playing the role of the superhero when he appears in Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Rumours swirling around suggest that "Spider-Man" reboot will feature much younger version of Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire's Peter Parker. But the question remains: Who will be the next Spider-Man?

Names of two new actors for the role of next Spider-Man have emerged. According to Access Showbiz, 18-year-old Asa Butterfield and 16-year-old Nolan Gould are the two new names added to the list of candidates for the role of the superhero, who will supposedly make his Marvel debut in "Captain America: Civil War."

For those unfamiliar, Nolan Gould is best known for his role of Luke Dunphy on "Modern Family." He has also made appearances in movies such as "Friends with Benefits," "Ghoul," and "The To Do List."

As for Asa Butterfield, the actor is popular for his lead role in fantasy film "Hugo" and sci-fi movie "Ender's Game." He was also seen in "X+Y" and "Ten Thousand Saints." Asa Butterfield has reportedly expressed his interest in the "Spider-Man" role.

When his name appeared on a discussion about "Spider-Man" role on Reddit, the actor responded with a message that read: "I'M SO DOWN!"

And when the Redditors, suggested that he could be good in the role, Asa Butterfield responded by saying: "I can do 'thin little bespectacled dweeb' pretty good, not far from myself actually."

Fans must note that the report lacks official comments from associated people and the studio. Thus it must be considered mere speculation. Meanwhile, The Wrap's Jeff Sneider mentioned Butterfield's name for the role of "Spider-Man" in the latest episode of "Meet the Movie Press." Sneider believes that there aren't many actors that age that could carry a role as huge as Spider-Man's. However, he thinks Butterfield has the profile that is needed for the role.

According to Yahoo UK, Marvel and Sony are looking for a younger Peter Parker for "Spider-Man" reboot. The character will still be in high school when he will make his high anticipated appearance on the big screen.  

Ansel Elgort, Dylan O'Brien and Logan Lerman are the names of other actors who are expected to replace Andrew Garfield for "Spider-Man" reboot. However, fans will have to wait for the official announcement of the film allegedly titled "The Spectacular Spider-Man" It is expected to be released on July 28, 2017.
