She's All That

The 1999 romantic comedy "She's All That," which starred Freddie Prinze Jr., Rachael Leigh Cook and "Fast and Furious 7" actor Paul Walker, is set to have a remake to be developed by Weinstein Company and Miramax, as per Tracking Board.

The modern adaptation of the romantic comedy is set to be helmed by Kenny Leon along with Tonya Lewis Lee and Julie Rapaport as co-producers. Tonik Productions and Weinstein Co. will be in charge of production as well as Miramax, the company which originally distributed the film.

Joining Walker in the original cast are Matthew Lillard, Anna Paquin, Kevin pollak, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, Usher Raymond, Gabrielle Union, Dule Hill, Alexis Arquette, Tim Matheson, Clea DuVall, Elden Henson, and Kieran Culkin. The film was helmed by Robert Iscove.

The film centered on Zack Siler, the most famous guy in their campus. He was ditched by his girlfriend Taylor Vaughan for a faded reality TV star Brock Hudson. Siler's friend, Dean Sampson, Jr. challenged him to a bet, asking if he could turn any random girl in the campus into the Prom Queen in six weeks. Sampson selects Laney Boggs, an introverted and unpopular art student, as his pick for Siler.

After its release on Jan. 29, 1999, the teen romantic comedy film ranked first in the box office gaining an estimated gross of $19 million and was boosted to an estimated worldwide gross of $103 million.

Having similar framework with George Bernard Shaw's 1913 stage play "Pygmalion" and George Cukor's 1964 film "My Fair Lady," the modern adaptation will present the film following the original plot and is assumed to be run by various leads in the industry.

There are no specific details yet with regard to the cast, which is the area the film has a high competition, as per Cinema Blend. Meanwhile, fans have to follow its progress as well further information on plot twist and release timeframe.
