Google recently announced the Chromebook Flip and it will battle head on with the Apple MacBook (2015).

The Chromebook Flip is the company's take on the tablet-laptop hybrid since the device packs a detachable keyboard that users can clip on in order to transform the tablet into a notebook. Meanwhile, Apple released a new 12-inch MacBook with inferior specs and less expensive than MacBook Air.

Below is the comparison of the specs and features of the Chromebook Flip and Apple MacBook (2015).

Screen Display

Apple MacBook sports 12 inch screen display with 2304 x 1440 pixel resolution, while the Chromebook Flip packs a 10.1 inch IPS Touchscreen screen display. The Chromebook Flip gained an advantage since the screen has a touchscreen feature.

Processor

The thinnest MacBook yet is powered by the latest 1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor with Intel Graphics chip. Chromebook Flip is equipped with Rockchip 3288 quad core processor paired with Mali-T764 graphics chip.

Storage

Chromebook Flip has a 16GB of onboard eMMC flash storage. Apple MacBook, on the other hand, has 256GB and 512GB storage variants in comparison with the 128GB and 512GB MacBook Air models.

Operating System

Apple's newest laptop runs with OS X Yosemite, while one of the advantages of the new Chromebook Flip is its Chrome OS since it receives automatic updates. Moreover, all of the apps are web-based.

Camera

The Apple MacBook has 480p FaceTime camera in comparison to the 720p HD front camera of Chromebook Flip

Battery Life

Chromebook Flip promises 10 hours of battery life, while the Apple MacBook (2015) promises 14 hours of battery capacity.

Price

Apple MacBook costs $1,300, which is still expensive. Meanwhile, Chromebook Flip gained the upper hand since the Chromebook costs $249. Google is known for releasing devices that have friendly price tags.
