Huawei has officially launched its SnapTo smartphone in the United States and people can now pre-order the device from the Amazon website.

It is an unlocked smartphone which allows buyers the convenience of using any mobile carrier of their choice, as they will not be locked to just one. The SnapTo smartphone will work with all major wireless carriers including T-Mobile, AT&T as well as other GSM based carriers.

Apple and Samsung has a very strong presence in the country but Huawei has a very minor share in the smartphone market. However, the company does make quality smartphones and the $179.99 price tag for this phone without any contract might entice buyers to go for it.

SnapTo is a promising Android device which supports 4G LTE connectivity. It features a decent 5-inch display with a 720p resolution and is powered by a quad core Qualcomm chip. Users will find a 5 megapixel rear and a 2 megapixel front camera. The rear camera comes with LED flash control. It runs on 1 GB of RAM and powered by a dependable 2,200 mAh battery.

The phone is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Buyers can also choose to buy it from other retailers including Frys, NewEgg, Best Buy and the official GetHuawei websites, according to CNet.

SnapTo smartphone runs on Android version 4.4, Kit Kat but Huawei did not announce when it will get upgraded to the latest Lollipop operating system. The phone bundles an exclusive feature, a dedicated ultra-snapshot feature which instantly activates the camera when users press the volume button. The add-on is an useful feature when users have to snap a quick picture on the go, reported eWeek.
