The pre-orders for the Apple watch was opened on Friday and a report from a data research firm Slice Intelligence confirmed that the company has received at least 1 million pre-orders so far.

People who are interested to explore the product in person can choose to visit the store before they place an order on the official website. The company confirmed that there will be no option to walk into a store and purchase it, which is a decision that most others would hesitate to make.

Apple did not announce the number of watches that will be available on launch. The exact number of pre-orders are 957,000 on Friday and the updated list confirmed they have already crossed the coveted one million mark.

The research firm also confirmed that majority of the customers chose to purchase the cheapest model of the Apple Watch, the Sports edition. It starts at $349 which made it easier for them to buy without having to invest a fortune. Other editions start at $549, while the premium is at $10,000.

According to a report by Tech Crunch, the black band for the Sports watch was the most preferred color and choice among buyers. They also added that the customers who bought it on launch day were loyal Apple customers who have brought at least one product from the company in the past, on launch day.
